Marie Glad is a regenerative consultant, educator and designer in service design & nature-based solutions. Since 2014, she has been applying permaculture design to various hands-on projects both in England and in Spain. She has experience working with community gardens, urban allotments, and rural landscapes for food production and ecosystem restoration. For the last four years, she has been converting the abandoned 18th-century masia Can Petel in the hills of Montenegre (45 min from Barcelona) into a 100% solar-powered finca and regenerative living lab.
Marie is a Workaway host for an international community of learners in regenerative & sustainable living, bioregional design, nature-based solutions, renewable energy, permaculture, gardening, foraging, herbal medicine, nutrition, sustainable forest management, soil improvement, water resilience, wastewater treatment, building restoration, and wildlife pond construction. She also hosts journaling & mindfulness workshops in nature.
Our workshops and retreats unfold at a beautifully restored 18th-century masia, just a 15-minute walk from the charming village of Canyamars and 45 minutes from Barcelona. Tucked away in a lush forest at the edge of the rolling hills of El Montnegre i El Corridor Natural Park, this hidden and unpretentious haven feels a world apart.
Rooted in the principles of permaculture and guided by the rhythms of nature, the retreat invites you into the evolving heart of an off-grid farm and regenerative living lab. It’s a sanctuary of thriving biodiversity—perfect for igniting creativity, forging meaningful connections, and rediscovering inner calm. The rainwater plunge pool offers a refreshing retreat, ideal for unwinding and recharging in nature.
The surrounding area of Canyamars in Dosrius is a gem, celebrated for its rich biodiversity, historic landmarks, scenic hiking and cycling trails, and traditional Catalan farmhouses.
